Hi, OP here. I don’t want a relationship, I just got out of one. However I was starting to like him which makes me wonder if its true that in casual relationships someone ends up falling/getting hurt. My question wasn’t about why are things not progressing to a relationship. My question was more IS this progressing to a relationship? And because I found him hard to read. Also, Moxie was spot on. Yesterday he told me he moved out of his apartment and is living at the boat, and that now he “only has one apartment in the complex” – the one his ex lives in. I asked him where all his stuff/furniture was and he said that it was at his ex’s apartment because “she gave her furniture to her sister”. Uh-huh.

D and Trouble are right — some guys want casual sex, but they’re either used to having to mask that impulse to get it, or so used to being in a relationship that they do all of the usual relationship things out of habit.
